A Palm Harbor entertainment venue that puts groups inside a live game-show studio is expanding, with a second location in the works in Pinellas Park.
That Game Show Place, at 38547 US Highway 19, bills itself as Florida's first game-show battle room. The 2,800-square-foot studio holds up to 48 people and features buzzers, podiums, scoreboards, lighting, sound effects, and camera equipment that can zoom in on contestants and move around the room.
Bar-based trivia nights led founder to build a permanent studio
Creator Jonathan Page moved his entertainment business from New York to Palm Harbor and began testing game-show events at local bars. Page said the bar events booked five and six nights a week, which led him to build a permanent studio modeled after TV sets.
"In 2023, when we were planning this, at that time, I had never heard of the concept as a venue before," Page told Spectrum Bay News 9 in a Tuesday report.
Live host leads private sessions with weekly-updated questions
Each booking is private. A live host leads the session, starting with a speed trivia round and moving through games tailored to the group's age range. Page said his team updates questions every week so returning players face fresh challenges.
Bookings start at eight people, with pricing around $29 per person
The studio accommodates groups of eight or more. Per-person pricing runs about $29, according to the venue's Eventective listing. Birthday parties, corporate team-builders and fundraisers are among the most common bookings.
The venue is also listed on the Visit St. Pete-Clearwater tourism site, marketing the studio to visitors alongside local attractions.
Founder says format keeps every player engaged
Page said the format keeps everyone involved regardless of group size. He described sessions where "everybody is engaged, everybody is playing, everybody is sweating when they leave the room."
Second location coming to Pinellas Park, no timeline set
That Game Show Place is now working on a second location in Pinellas Park. No opening timeline has been announced.
