Buddy Brew Coffee will open a café inside the Sprouts Farmers Market in Palm Harbor on Friday, Oct. 30. The new location at 33652 U.S. Hwy. 19 N marks the Tampa-based roaster's second café in Pinellas County.
The company announced the opening on X on Oct. 27, calling it a "massive Grand Opening Celebration."
Doors open at 10 a.m.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for 9:45 a.m., according to a company press release. The first 25 people in line will receive gift bags with Buddy Brew merchandise and gift cards. One guest will win free coffee for a year. The café will offer $3 fall drinks, and the celebration, which includes a live DJ, runs until 5 p.m.
The format mirrors earlier Buddy Brew openings inside Sprouts stores. When the Seminole location opened Aug. 14, Buddy Brew offered $3 drinks and the same gift-bag giveaway, St. Pete Rising reported.
Palm Harbor is part of a 10-store partnership between Buddy Brew and Sprouts announced in June. Sprouts said the cafés would open across Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Sarasota counties. The first opened June 17 at the Westchase Sprouts in Tampa.
Susan Ward, Buddy Brew's co-founder and president, said in a statement that the company is grateful for the chance to become part of the Palm Harbor community.
Ward told the Osprey Observer in October that Sprouts approached Buddy Brew to be its Florida coffee partner. "We partnered with them on the build-out. They were wonderful in allowing us to really have a big say in design so that it looks like a Buddy Brew," Ward said.
The café will serve espresso drinks, cold brew, matcha, smoothies, seasonal specialty drinks, pastries and breakfast and lunch items, according to the company.
Buddy Brew opened its flagship café and roastery on West Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa in 2010, according to Daily Coffee News. The Sprouts partnership has more than doubled the brand's café count. Trinity and Sarasota are next in line, Ward told the Osprey Observer.
