A membership-based indoor golf simulator club is setting up shop on U.S. 19 in Palm Harbor.

The Golf Crypt will open at 33334 U.S. 19 with a grand opening event that includes free tours, food, prizes and a chance to try the facility's Trackman golf simulator, according to a Tampa Bay Beacons report and the company's website.

Matt and Brenda Sandonato, who own the Palm Harbor franchise, have both lived in the area for more than 45 years, according to the company's site. Matt Sandonato works in hospital IT, and Brenda Sandonato has spent more than 20 years in employee benefits operations.

Golf became a shared passion as their children grew, the site says. Matt Sandonato began taking lessons using Trackman technology and saw how data analytics could sharpen his game, which led to the idea of opening a facility locally.

In a statement published by Franchising.com on Oct. 14, Brenda Sandonato said the club aims to help golfers improve. "With a dedicated and accessible space, along with innovative data analytics through the Trackman golf simulator, we expect that our members will see dramatic improvement in their golf game," she said in the statement.

The Golf Crypt model uses a membership structure with 24/7 access, according to the company's franchise materials. Members enter through a front-door security system. No staff are on site. The model includes a putting green and a lounge where members can bring their own food and drinks.

New members receive a complimentary 90-minute training session on the Trackman system, according to the Palm Harbor site.

The location lists four membership tiers. The entry-level Bogey plan includes three hours of simulator time per month. The Par plan offers six hours, Birdie provides 10 and Eagle includes 20. All tiers allow up to three guests at no extra charge and require a two-month minimum commitment. Additional simulator time costs $55 per hour, plus applicable Florida taxes.

The simulator lets golfers play virtual rounds on hundreds of courses and provides shot-by-shot data analysis. The company's press release lists access to more than 475 courses, while its Palm Harbor website advertises a library of 600.

The Golf Crypt franchise is headquartered in Jupiter and has locations on Florida's Gold Coast and Treasure Coast, according to the press release. Co-founder Frank Drago said in the release that the Palm Harbor opening continues the company's expansion.

The grand opening runs Friday, Nov. 6, through Sunday, Nov. 8, at 33334 U.S. 19, Palm Harbor. The phone number is 727-777-4163.
