The Dunedin Celtic Festival returns to Highlander Park on Saturday, Nov. 21, with two music stages, a new 5K race and a lineup mixing bagpipes with country music.
The annual festival, presented by the Dunedin Scottish Arts Foundation, runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Proceeds support Scottish arts education in Dunedin schools and the community, according to the festival's Facebook page.
This year's lineup includes the City of Dunedin Pipe Band, Isle of Skye Highland Dancers, Poehemia, EJ Jones Band and Frank Dancey Music. Dunedin High School's Scottish Highlander Band and Dunedin Highland Middle School's band and Scottish Arts Program will also perform.
The festival will feature a beer tent, a children's area, a whisky tasting experience, and piping, drumming and dancing seminars.
New Kilted 5K kicks off the day
A first-ever Kilted 5K Run/Walk starts at 10 a.m., one hour before the festival gates open. The course starts and finishes at Highlander Park and winds through Hammock Park, according to The Tampa Calendar. Registration includes a T-shirt, finishing medal and festival admission; check RunSignup for the current price. Kilts are encouraged but not required.
Runners can pick up race packets on Friday, Nov. 20, between 4:30 and 6 p.m. at the Dunedin Community Center, 1920 Pinehurst Rd., or on race day starting at 9 a.m. at the registration tent.
Tickets and what to know
Presale general admission tickets are $20 through Eventbrite. Tickets at the gate cost $27. VIP tickets are listed at $125, and a Whisky Masterclass & Tasting add-on is $30, according to the festival's social media posts. Children 12 and under get in free. Parking is free.
The festival runs rain or shine. The Dunedin Scottish Arts Foundation says no coolers, tents or pets are allowed, with the exception of service animals.
