Original paintings, prints, and handmade gift items are on sale at Studio 1212 Art Gallery, 234 Monroe St. in downtown Dunedin, one block north of Main Street. The nonprofit gallery's summer Fine Art Sale is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Raffle tickets are also available at $5 each or $20 for five, according to the gallery's Facebook page.
Studio 1212 is a membership-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit artist group that has operated in downtown Dunedin for more than five decades. The gallery was incorporated in 1971 by students of William Pachner, a world-renowned artist who taught classes in the Tampa Bay area after immigrating to the United States from Czechoslovakia in 1939.
Pachner received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1960 and Ford Foundation Awards for Painting in 1959 and 1964. He died in November 2017 at age 102. Studio 1212 members still honor their founder each year with a dedicated art exhibit, according to the gallery's website.
"From now on, I shall use whatever gifts I have to bear witness to my experience," Pachner said in 1945, after learning all 80 members of his family had died in Nazi concentration camps. That declaration, cited on Studio 1212's origin page, marked the turning point toward his full artistic career.
The gallery's name comes from its original storefront at street number 1212. It has since moved to the Monroe Street location, where visitors can find works ranging from large framed paintings to smaller unframed pieces and handmade items.
Community calendar listings show the Fine Art Sale running through at least Saturday, August 1. The gallery is also available by appointment.
