A free community dinner, hands-on art workshops and a history talk give Palm Harbor and Dunedin residents several reasons to get out of the house the week of Aug. 17.

Monday: Free dinner and silver jewelry class

The recurring "Seat At The Table" free community meal returns Monday, Aug. 17, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Lutheran Church of the Palms, 2250 Nebraska Ave., Palm Harbor. In the event listing on Patch, organizer Karen Wood said everyone is welcome whether they come with family, friends or alone. Meals are provided by Metro Meals, and no reservation is required.

Also Monday, the Dunedin Fine Art Center offers a jewelry workshop, "Creative Uses for Your Silver Scrap," taught by instructor Stacy Perry starting at 10 a.m. Registration details are available at dfac.org.

Tuesday: Cooking class in Dunedin

Chef Rita leads "Lentil Bolognese with Pasta" at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the Dunedin Fine Art Center, 1143 Michigan Blvd., Dunedin.

Wednesday: Sea glass pendants downtown

Beadster Studio hosts a wire-wrapping workshop at Roxie K. Boutique, 200 Main St. in downtown Dunedin, on Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. Participants make two custom sea glass pendants wrapped in blue wire. Tickets were $35, though the event was listed as sold out on Eventbrite as of Sunday, Aug. 16.

Thursday: History night at Palm Harbor Library

The Palm Harbor Museum's monthly "Museum Presents" speaker series continues Thursday, Aug. 20, at 6:30 p.m. at Palm Harbor Library, 2330 Nebraska Ave. The series is free and open to all with no RSVP needed. The museum has not announced the Aug. 20 topic; check palmharbormuseum.com for details. The next confirmed speaker is author and historian Robert Jacob, who will present "Pirates of the Florida Coast" on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the same location.
