Dunedin Brewery will host a day of experimental live music on Nov. 7 as part of Art Everywhere, a new $350,000 countywide arts program that places nearly 30 creative experiences in unexpected venues across Pinellas County this fall.
The brewery's event, "Unusual Noise: Music from the Edge of Florida," will feature original performances, improvisation and one-of-a-kind musical encounters at its 937 Douglas Ave. taproom, according to the Creative Pinellas funded-experiences list. It is one of several Dunedin stops on the program's calendar.
Art Everywhere runs Nov. 1 through Dec. 6.
The Dunedin Fine Art Center, at 1143 Michigan Blvd., and the Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin will co-host "Dunedin's Premiere Art Weekend" Nov. 6–8, a curated market with more than 200 local artisans, visiting artists and regional food vendors. Dunedin Public Theater rounds out the local lineup with "Candlelight & Strings," a candlelit concert spanning music from the 1960s forward, on Nov. 20–21. That event includes an optional stay-and-play package at the Fenway Hotel.
@dunedinbrewery: "Honored to be highlighted as a home of arts. 🎭 November is looking amazing."
The brewery posted that comment on Creative Pinellas's Aug. 6 Instagram announcement of the grant recipients.
How it works
Pinellas County commissioners approved a $500,000 arts tourism initiative in March. Creative Pinellas managed the grant process, awarding $350,000 to the selected projects from nearly 140 applications, according to ilovetheburg.com. Funding flows from Visit St. Pete-Clearwater through the county's Arts Tourism Funding program, with the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance and Clearwater Arts Alliance handling outreach and event support.
Art Everywhere marks the first Creative Pinellas program open to for-profit arts organizations, not just individual artists and nonprofits, LocalShops1 reported.
Beyond Dunedin
The program kicks off Nov. 1 with St. Petersburg Museum Week, featuring special programs at participating museums through Nov. 8. On Nov. 3, the Morean Workshop Space will install "Under One Canopy," an interactive tree-like sculpture along the Pinellas Trail where visitors can leave a personalized artistic mark.
Art Everywhere wraps Dec. 6 with "Clearwater Illuminations: Lantern Festival & International Night Market" at Coachman Park in Clearwater, organized by Clearwater Sister Cities. Inspired by a tradition from Clearwater's sister city of Nagano, Japan, the event will feature glowing Japanese lanterns, live entertainment, international food vendors and family-friendly activities.
