Jake Bennett crushed nearly everything he touched against the Tampa Tarpons during the Aug. 11–16 series, and the Dunedin Blue Jays made it official Monday, Aug. 17, naming him the Dunedin Refrigeration Ice Cold Performance of the Week winner.

The stat line behind the honor: seven of Bennett's eight balls put in play across four games against Tampa left the bat at 105 MPH or harder, the team announced on X.

Bennett's week peaked during games three and four of the six-game set at TD Ballpark. On Thursday, Aug. 13, he went 2-for-4 with two home runs and six RBI in an 11-7 loss. His first blast was a grand slam in the third inning that tied the score at 4-4, left the bat at 107.5 MPH and traveled 414 feet. It was his first professional home run.

He wasn't done. In the eighth inning, Bennett launched a two-run shot at 107.5 MPH that traveled 430 feet, the third-furthest tracked home run by a Dunedin player this season. His six RBI matched Blaine Bullard's season high for the club, and the game marked the fifth multi-homer performance by a Blue Jay this year.

The next night, Bennett went deep again. His opposite-field two-run homer in the fifth inning on Friday, Aug. 14, left the bat at 105.6 MPH and traveled 360 feet, giving him three home runs in two games. After that contest, Bennett had hit safely in four straight.

The power surge wasn't enough to lift Dunedin in the series. The Blue Jays dropped games three (11-7), four (7-4) and five (14-7) to Tampa after Owen Carapellotti's two-homer night powered a 10-1 win in game two on Wednesday, Aug. 12. As of that midweek victory, Dunedin trailed Tampa by four games for first place in the Florida State League West with 24 games remaining.

Dunedin opens a three-game road series at the Clearwater Threshers on Tuesday, Aug. 18, with first pitch at 6:30 p.m. Games follow Wednesday, Aug. 19, and Thursday, Aug. 20, both at 6:30 p.m.
