Florida Celtic Soccer Club will host a Thanksgiving break soccer camp at Putnam Park in Palm Harbor for boys and girls in the U8 through U19 age groups.

Camp de Cian runs Monday, Nov. 23, through Friday, Nov. 27, with no session on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and registration costs $250 per player, according to the club's announcement.

Coach Cian Tunney will lead the four-day program at Putnam Park, 799 Riviere Road.

Camp focuses on soccer fundamentals and match play

The camp will follow a structured training schedule covering four areas of soccer development:

  • Ball control, passing and movement.
  • Defensive marking, tracking back and tackling.
  • Shooting, finishing and technical skills.
  • Practice matches and lunchtime quizzes.

The club also lists live World Cup viewing among its planned activities, although it has not specified which matches or competition will be shown.

Campers should arrive 15 minutes before the 9 a.m. start and bring enough water, a packed lunch and snacks for the full day.

Largo camp offers additional option

Florida Celtic will also host a Thanksgiving camp at Belcher Road Soccer Complex, 1779 Belcher Road in Largo, for boys and girls in the U8 through U17 age groups.

The Largo program runs Nov. 23-27, with full-day sessions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and a shortened session from 9 a.m. to noon on Thanksgiving Day.

The club lists a $250 full-day option and a $150 half-day option.
