Downtown Dunedin shops are rolling out sidewalk displays and deals for a two-day Sidewalk Sale starting Saturday, Sept. 19.

The sale runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, with apparel, jewelry, gifts and home decor spread across the downtown district. Nearly every downtown retailer is taking part, according to the Dunedin Daily. The City of Dunedin also highlighted the sale in its weekly DunediNEWS newsletter.

Shoppers who leave the car at home can double up. World Car Free Day festivities begin at 2:15 p.m. Saturday at Josiah Cephas Weaver Park, 1258 Bayshore Blvd., and run until 6 p.m. The event features a walk or ride along the Pinellas Trail with stops at designated local businesses along the route.

Free helmets sweeten the deal. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office will hand out bike helmets at the Car Free Day event until 4 p.m.

October brings theater, arts festival and Halloween events

Dunedin's fall calendar fills up fast after this weekend:

• Sunday, Oct. 4 — Progressive Arts Theater performs "Robin Hood & Little John" at Pioneer Park at 2 p.m. General admission is free.
• Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11 — The annual Art & Craft Festival returns to downtown Dunedin with handmade jewelry, paintings, photography, ceramics and more.
• Saturday, Oct. 24 — Dunedin Parks and Recreation hosts Spooktacular Halloween at Highlander Park and the Dunedin Community Center. Expect carnival games, a costume contest, bounce houses and the Monsters & Mayhem Haunted House, recommended for ages 8 and older.
• Saturday, Oct. 31 — The Dunedin History Museum transforms Andrews Memorial Chapel into "Spookeasy: Madame Laveau in the Voodoo Lounge" from 6 to 8:30 p.m., with themed food, activities and one complimentary drink.
