Daniel Guerra touched 97.6 mph and punched out five batters in 3⅓ scoreless innings Thursday, July 23, making his first minor league rehab start as the Dunedin Blue Jays shut out the Bradenton Marauders 2-0 at LECOM Park.

The seven-inning, rain-shortened win gave Dunedin its third shutout of the 2026 season and a 2-1 lead in the series at Bradenton.

Guerra, the Toronto Blue Jays' No. 16 prospect, allowed just one hit and one walk while inducing nine swings and misses. Seven of those whiffs came on his fastball. The 6-foot-6, 230-pound right-hander from Venezuela had been sidelined since mid-June with elbow and biceps soreness while pitching for High-A Vancouver, where he posted a 3.17 ERA with 73 strikeouts in 54 innings over 12 starts, according to a Sportsnet farm report. Before the injury, Guerra was on the cusp of a promotion to Double-A, his strikeout rate having climbed from 9.2 to 12.2 per nine innings after adding a splitter to his arsenal.

His fastball topped out at 97.6 mph Thursday, matching the upper range he showed at Vancouver before the shutdown. Guerra handed a clean game to relievers Diego Dominguez and Connor O'Halloran, who finished the combined shutout.

Center fielder Jake Cook provided the offense. Cook went 1-for-4 and launched a solo home run in the seventh inning, his second of the year, to extend the lead to 2-0. He scored both of Dunedin's runs on the night.

Right fielder Blaine Bullard singled in the fifth to extend his on-base streak to 13 consecutive games. The 19-year-old, Toronto's No. 14 prospect, was named Florida State League Player of the Week for July 7–12 after going 9-for-20 with two homers and 11 RBI against Lakeland.

Dunedin won the series opener Tuesday, July 21, by a 10-9 score behind Aldo Gaxiola's career-high five RBI.

Three games remain in the six-game set at LECOM Park in Bradenton.
